Introducing the ONE and ONLY aluminum servo arm designed specifically for the mighty powerful, mega torque PS050 servo by Japan's Tonegawa Seiko ... AirWild's Uni-Arm Adjustable (UAA). Yes, you read it right ... it is also ADJUSTABLE.
|
Design of Uni-Arm Adjustable (UAA) for Tonegawa Seiko PS050 is based on our time-proven Uni-Arm double-truss architecture. This innovative design allows for straight arm configuration as well as offset (swept) setup which remedies a commonly found issue in today's giant-scale airplanes; control horn offset from hinge line, rudder horn in particular. UAA's offset adjustment range can be as minute as 3mm and as large as 25mm making UAA extremely flexible for all possible control offset scenarios AND capable of dialing out offset to the highest precision.
UAA consists of four (4) aluminum truss arms, a (1) aluminum center hub and miscellaneous mounting hardware.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR STRAIGHT UAA:
- Refer to left illustrations and locate four mounting locations as marked in red. These are for #2-56 screws provided.
- Place truss arm onto the center hub with the offset index pointer of the arm exactly on the zero-offset index marker of the center hub. This will also automatically line up the four mounting holes.
- Follow 'COMPONENT VIWE' illustration to assemble truss arms and center hub. Please note that truss arms MUST be assmbled in the order illustrated.
- Make sure all nuts and screws are tighten. Use medium Loctite if desired.
- Select desired span and install 1/4HD ball links (not included). You have the options of 2, 2.25 or 2.5 in. span from hub center to outer point of the arm (or 4, 4.5 or 5 in. span from point to point).

Building an offset UAA is just as easy but does does require drilling two #2 holes in the truss arms. There are seven pre-marked offset indexes engraved on the center hub for your convenience. Exact offsets in both X and Y directions for each index are also listed in detail below. &nbps Simply select the index that offers you the optimal offset setting for your particular setup, then assemble the offset UAA accordingly. That's it! It doesn't get any easier!

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR OFFSET UAA:
- Locate center hub. Identify the 'ZERO-OFFSET MARKER', offset indexes and mounting locations as marked in red.
- Locate a truss arm and identify four mounting locations as marked in red; two oval shape slots and two surface reference lines.
- Place truss arm on top of center hub with the offset index pointer of the arm on the desired index line (please refer to the Offset Values Table below for the correct index to use).
- Insert two (2) #2-56 SHCS through the oval slots and into the corresponding holes of the center hub. Do not lock them yet. This will allow truss arm to rotate about the hub center. Keep truss arm and center hub together. Next step is to locate and drill the two additional mounting holes.
- Make sure truss arm's offset pointer is on the correct index line. Turn the truss arm - center hub over to expose center hub's back side (spline side). Identify the two additional hole locations, as marked in red, and use a sharp object to score the surface of truss arm identifying the locations. These two locations should coincide with the drilling refrence lines.
- Drill two 0.085 in. (2.16 mm)holes at these two locations.
- Use the truss arm you just drilled and duplicate these locations onto the other three truss arms.
- Now simply follow 'COMPONENT VIWE' illustration to assemble truss arms and center hub. Please note that truss arms MUST be assmbled in the order illustrated.
- Make sure all nuts and screws are tighten. Use medium Loctite if desired.
- Select desired span and install 1/4HD ball links (not included). There are three mounting width to choose from. Refer to OFFSET VALUES TABLE for the correct X dimension. If necessary adjust the width (span) of your rudder control horn to match the X value.
